HSDRR First Rescue "Aries"

"Aires" aka Little Man was picked up on Saturday June 13th from an individual who had rescued him from traffic. He was found at 7th and Jackson in Joplin, Missouri. When I first arrived he was in a state of dissarray and was obviously under stress. He had extreme matting in his fur and was infested with fleas. His nails were very long and there was a round piece of fabric stuck on one of this nails and had split the nail, making it impossible to simply pull it off. I brought him into my home and went straight to grooming.

After two hours you see the difference it makes. It took me two days to clip his nails. He slowly became acclimated and began drinking and eating normally. I had him evaluated at Main Street Pet Care in Joplin, Missouri and they decided he was between 5-6 years old and that his lungs and heart sounded good, his eyes and ears were clear, but that his teeth (those that were remaining) were in need of bing removed for his health. I also had him capstarred to kill off the flea infestation. I plan to vet him and have bloodwork and urine done before raising the money to have his dental surgery.
