About us

One at a time.
Our passion for dogs has been around as long as we have. We took our first steps and adopted our first rescue dog in 2009, and fell in love immediately. Rescue dogs are not like other dogs, they have special quirks or requirements which make them different than other dogs. Our second rescue, and the foundation for starting HSDRR was Bonnie.

Free to a good home.

We knew when we saw this face that we could not at least go take a look. Bonnie had kidney/bladder stones which required her to be on special food. The current owners had not been keeping her on the food because of the cost. We fell in love at first sight and took her home right then. I thought I might try to get her into a pug rescue until she endeared herself to me the next week by sticking by my side as I was laid up in bed very ill. She never left my side, and so I promised her the same.

Qualifications

Graduating in Spring 2015 from MSSU with a BSBA in both Management and Human Rescources, three certificates in entrepreneurism, I focused on the areas that would allow me to successfully operate any business but especially my own and a non-profit organization. HSDRR board of directors has two business majors and a combined 30 years management experience.

What makes us so special?

Our passion and love for animals, especially senior dogs, or dogs that you all too often see get passed over in the kill shelters, makes us important to the dog rescue networks. If needed we will not only find forever homes, but a loving hospice environment if needed.
